Episode 8: Remembrance

10/11/2017 6:20 pm

November’s podcast continues the theme of remembrance. It is right that we remember the fallen of our wars and conflicts and we do so courtesy of a short reflection from Fr Michael Fava - Apostolic Administrator of the Bishopric of the Forces.

We also wanted to shine a light on how other cultures, traditions and faiths commemorate and pray for their dead. Listen to an audio montage featuring Chinese Buddhism, Hinduism, Islam and Judaism.

‘Death Chatter’ shifts the discussion to whether, in cultural 'celebrations' of death, we are ever in danger of actually disrespecting the dead.

We finish with the ‘View from the Chaplain’s Chair’. This month we have the Catholic perspective on death, dying and praying for the dead from Bishop John Sherrington.
