PROCLAIM ’15 PRAYER
You are welcome to reproduce the initiative prayer in print or use it on electronic platforms.
You so loved the world that you sent us your only Son,
that we might believe in him and have eternal life.
May we encounter Jesus Christ anew this day
and live the Good News with joy.
Through the power of your Holy Spirit,
help us to “go out to the whole world and proclaim”
our faith with confidence.
Give us the courage to witness to the Joy of the Gospel
by our words and actions.
Help our parish to become more welcoming and missionary,
so that you may be known and loved by all people.
We make this prayer through Our Lord Jesus Christ Your Son,
who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
one God for ever and ever,
Our Lady, Star of the New Evangelisation, Pray for us.
Blessed John Henry Newman, Pray for us.
St Thérèse of Lisieux, Pray for us.
Every parish is invited to offer a time of prayer on the evening of Saturday 11 July 2015 to pray for the work of evangelisation in England and Wales.
The evenings of prayer are scheduled to take place on the same day as the National Catholic Evangelisation Conference - Proclaim '15 - in Birmingham. Please join a network of intercessors across our countries to pray for the building of missionary parishes, and also, as the delegates return home to share with others what they have received and learnt, that the National Conference will bear much fruit.
In the resource booklet provided you will find a suggested Holy Hour that your parish might use as part of an 'Evening of Prayer'. It could conveniently follow a parish’s usual Saturday evening Mass. Please feel free to adapt it as you choose and include moments of silence for reflection.

"When the time for Pentecost was fulfilled,
they were all in one place together.
And suddenly there came from the sky
a noise like a strong driving wind,
and it filled the entire house in which they were.
Then there appeared to them tongues as of fire,
which parted and came to rest on each one of them.”
Acts 2: 1 - 11
Free prayer materials are provided by Northampton Diocese to support the Novena of prayer in the run up to Pentecost which is celebrated on Sunday 24 May.
The Novena begins on Friday of the Sixth Week of Easter, 15 May until Saturday 23 May 2015.

FOR INSPIRATION: PARISH CATECHIST
“I’m passionate about my Catholic faith and am already involved in my parish as a catechist, which I love. When I heard about Proclaim ’15, as a lay person, I got really excited, because it’s a way that I can work with others in my area to learn more about how to share my faith with greater confidence.” Shirley Green, Parish Catechist, Our Lady of the Assumption Parish, Liverpool.
Proclaim ’15: 'Evening of Prayer' materials lead team member: Fr Eddie Clare, Maryvale Institute, Archdiocese of Birmingham.
Proclaim ’15 is being coordinated by the Bishops’ Conference Home Mission Desk which is as an instrument of the Department for Evangelisation and Catechesis. The Department is chaired by Bishop Mark O’Toole, Plymouth Diocese.
