Father Mark Hogan and Brother Loarne Ferguson

Br Loarne Ferguson and Fr Mark Hogan co-led the workshop session titled: How to reach out to those who have had no experience of Church.

Br Loarne Ferguson

Br Loarne is a Capuchin Franciscan friar, currently working as Retreat Director at Pantasaph in North Wales.

He is passionate about evangelisation and equipping Catholics (ordained and lay) to share the best news the world has ever known.

After ten years of forming Seekers’ Teams and seeing new members come into the Church, he now hopes that this year’s release of the Seekers’ Team Resources will help more parishes to fulfil the Great Commission.

At 46 years old, he says that the rest is all downhill! His hobbies are walking, arts and crafts, music and reading.

Fr Mark Hogan

Fr Mark grew up in Sacred Heart Parish, Fareham and was educated in the local Catholic schools.

After a degree in Mathematics at Warwick University, he entered Allen Hall Seminary and gained a BD in Divinity at Heythrop College.

Fr Mark was ordained deacon in 2000 and priest in 2001 and has spent fourteen wonderful years as a priest. During his first placement in Southampton, he studied for a Master of Theology Degree.

He is now Episcopal Vicar for Evangelisation in the Portsmouth Diocese and parish priest at St. Joseph’s, Basingstoke. His main passions are his faith, family, food and football.
