Fr Paul Cannon and Sharon Beech co-led the workshop session titled: How to form a parish evangelisation team.

Fr Paul Cannon

Paul Cannon was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Salford in 1982.

In 1987 he was appointed a team member of the Catholic Missionary Society based in London, and from 1991-1994 he served as its Director.

On completion of his term of office at the CMS he studied for his Masters degree in adult religious education at Loyola University, Chicago.

He is currently the parish priest of Our Lady of Good Counsel and Guardian Angels in Bury, Lancashire, and Episcopal Vicar for Evangelisation for the Salford Diocese.

Over the past few years he has been a regular contributor for Redemptorist Publications. Paul has recently co-authored the book ‘Welcome to Witness. Becoming an Evangelising Parish’ with Sharon Beech. The book was published in December 2014 by Redemptorist Publications.

Sharon Beech

Sharon is Project Development Co-ordinator for the Department for Evangelisation in Salford Diocese.

A mother of three and grandmother to five, Sharon has worked for Salford Diocese for 18 years, firstly as a parish office administrator and in recent years for the Department for Evangelisation.

She has a Bachelors and Masters degree in Theology and Religious Studies and has written on the impact of Christianity on the Inuit and the anthropology of ritual in a secular society.

She has also written articles for the Paulist Evangelisation Ministries in Washington DC. Sharon has recently co-authored the book ‘Welcome to Witness. Becoming an Evangelising Parish’ with Paul Cannon. The book was published in December 2014 by Redemptorist Publications.
