Bishop Alan Williams

Rt Rev Alan Williams is the Bishop of Brentwood and is leading the workshop session titled: How to make prayer the foundation of your missionary parish.

Rt Rev Williams sm was ordained a priest for the Society of Mary [Marist Fathers] in 1983 and became the seventh Bishop of Brentwood in 2014.

He previously served as Director of the Roman Catholic National Shrine at Walsingham, where he had overall responsibility for pilgrimages and retreats.

He has also worked as a Teacher and Chaplain in Secondary Schools, and as a University Chaplain, teaching Christian Spirituality at postgraduate level.

He is a former Major Superior of the Marist Fathers in England [2000-2008] and has served as a Parish Priest in the Archdiocese of Southwark.
