20 December

Back at the start of Advent, on 4 December, we remembered the people of the Middle East North Africa in a day of prayer in England and Wales. Now, as we approach Christmas, it seems appropriate to centre our thoughts and prayers on Syria's refugees and internally displaced people.

The Archbishop of the country's capital Damascus, Archbishop Samir Nassar, has released a Christmas message called 'The Refugees before The Crib'. This makes a pertinent addition to our Thought for Advent series.

A translation of the original Arabic version of Archbishop Nassar's reflection is read for this podcast by the Bishops' MENA consultant Dr Harry Hagopian.

Duration: 4m 38s
