Inspired by the historic 2010 visit of His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI, the Bishops of England and Wales are seeking to renew the Church and society "through the mission, teaching and witness of all the Christian faithful."

In a message released on Home Mission Sunday, marking the one-year anniversary of the Papal Visit, the Bishops explain how they have been reflecting on the words of Pope Benedict and have begun to formulate how the shared mission, teaching and witness can be expressed strategically in the priorities, aims and objectives of the Bishops’ Conference over the next three to five years.

The Bishops call on all Catholics to be confident, faithful and courageous in playing a full part in building a better future for all in this country, especially during these difficult times of economic and social turbulence.
